Frida is a mexican artist who painted many self portraits. She famously wore flower crowns in her hair.

PROBLEM - personalized and sentimental art

Art piece that features an expansive set of Fridas, each wearing a different flower crown. Art piece must be cohesive and constrained to a few colors and textures.
I miss my friends; incorporate sentimental feelings for long distance friendships.

solution - create art tool, friends make flower crowns

I created an art tool in Processing, a flexible software sketchbook. The tool features an uncrowned frida and a cohesive set of flowers. My friends received the tool in their inboxes. They were able to save their creations and send them to me.

Each of my friends sent in a minimum of three creations. They thought the tool was sticky, enabling art creation with limited choices and movements. There were several email threads sharing and laughing over the creations.

…even I can do this. I do well within constraints.
